Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Engineering

The Gopuff team is looking for a diligent, creative, and knowledgeable Senior Software Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering team. 
We are seeking an experienced Engineer focused on DevOps who is excited about creating innovative solutions to make life effortless for our customers! The kind of people we are looking for want to build optimized routing systems to efficiently deliver to our customers, create an end to end shopping experience that will delight our customers, devise warehouse management systems that enable us to always fulfill our customers’ needs, or design mobile and web applications that are joyful to use. Your primary responsibilities will be to build and continually improve the automation that lies at the intersection between infrastructure and application. A commitment to collaborative problem solving, elegant design, and a quality product is essential.  We are biased towards action and a feature is considered ‘Done’ once it is shipped and confidently running in production.
This is a hybrid position (Tues-Thurs onsite) in our Philadelphia, PA or Aventura, FL locations

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science (or related field) Over 6 Years of production experience
• Ability to program (structured and OO) with one or more high level languages, such as Python, Java, Go, C/C++, and JavaScript
• Experience in a production setting automating infrastructure provisioning in a public cloud, Terraform preferred
• Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (K8s strongly preferred)
• Strong knowledge of UNIX and TCP/IP and HTTP fundamentals.
• Experience building secure systems from both an infrastructure and platform perspective
• Experience building highly available systems that utilize load balancing and horizontal scalability
• Ability to prioritize and organize work in a multifaceted environment.
• Proficiency with modern web, frontend and server, and/or cloud applications
• Hands-on technical expertise in Security Architecture, automation, integration, and CI/CD deployment (DevOps).
• Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms and databases (ex: SQL, MongoDB)
• Use of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. The tool is less important - experiences and a mindset to try/execute CI/CD pipelines at scale is key, in a GitOps deployment model

Preferred Qualifications:

• Public cloud experience in a production setting (Azure/GCP preferred)
• Experience with message based, async processing
• Experience with microservices and /or distributed systems

Responsibilities:

• Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of an application from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement
• Support applications before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and launch reviews
• Maintain applications once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.
• Creating libraries and tooling to enable seamless integration of services we use - Azure, Grafana, Prometheus, PagerDuty
• Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
• Identify and build solutions that raise the level of quality across an organization of 200+ engineers - from well-supported build pipelines to best in-class observability

Compensation

• Gopuff pays employees based on market pricing and pay may vary depending on your location. The salary range below reflects what we’d reasonably expect to pay candidates. A candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. Exceptions may be made for exceptional individuals. For additional information on this role’s compensation package, please reach out to the designated recruiter for this role.
• US Comp. Range: $140,000 - $235,000
