The Radiology Intermediate Care Area (RICA) is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse.
The RICA staff nurse is a registered nurse who is part of a multidisciplinary team caring for patients pre and post Interventional Radiology procedures. They will become proficient at assessing patient’s clinical status, recovering from sedation, providing education regarding IR procedures, interpreting the plan of medical care and assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner.
The RICA is comprised of 13 individual bays dedicated to the care of adult and pediatric patients preceding and immediately following a procedure.
Qualifications
Skills and Experience Required for a Registered Nurse RN Radiology Recovery Area
-BSN is preferred
-Current licensure in Massachusetts as a registered nurse is required
-BLS and ACLS required
-Critical Care experience- ED or ICU- is required
-Ideal candidates have 3 years of recent IR or acute care RN experience, new grad RN's will not be considered.
- This position requires you to work day shift 10 or 12 hours, area is operational Monday-Friday.

Essential Functions
-Maintain accurate, detailed reports, and records.
-Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
-Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
-Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
-Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
-Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.

Associate's Degree Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred

Experience
Clinical nursing experience 3 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
- Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.
