Position Purpose

To provide guidance, mentorship, and skill leadership in a diverse team and fast-paced metal fabrication environment. This role combines hands-on machine operation, technical expertise, and leadership to drive high standards in quality and production.

Position Responsibilities

• Promote a positive and respectful team culture grounded in cooperation and mutual support.
• Operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines (pipe cutter, structural cutter, clipper) with precision and safety.
• Oversee daily workflow, prioritize tasks, and ensure adherence to production schedules.
• Collaborate with Project Foreman and maintenance teams to resolve mechanical and production issues.
• Track inventory and managing tool and equipment usage.
• Provide hands-on leadership for CNC operations while mentoring fellow tradespeople.
• Act as a resource and go-to person for technical troubleshooting, training, and guidance.
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Summary of Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• CNC machine operation experience preferred but not required, willing to train and invest in employees.
• Demonstrated ability to be part of a team.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Interest and ability to learn, practice and teach Lean principles and values.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Demonstrated ability to operate and teach other employees the safe operation of tools, equipment and material handling practices.
• Proven communication skills.

• Work at elevated heights, confined spaces and in a fabrication shop environment.
