About Team:
Global Integrated Fulfillment (GIF) is a team helps to bring inventory closer to the customers and creates new opportunities to fulfil orders faster and more conveniently. GIF is a modular system developed on a horizontally scalable cloud platform that helps Walmart track the orders and choose their pick paths during staging. Its pickup algorithms decide on taking the best possible route to traverse between aisles considering factors such as availability, category, and the customer pickup slot and date. Walmart's philosophy of Everyday Low Prices is not an easy one to achieve. Being cost-effective is critical because it allows us to optimize all processes and verticals while striving for excellence. Our team is a big part of making this possible. Our team creates reusable technologies to help with customer acquisition, onboarding, and empowering merchants, while ensuring a seamless experience for all stakeholders. We also optimize tariffs and assortment in accordance with Walmart's Everyday Low-Cost philosophy. We not only create affordability, but we also deliver customized experiences for customers across all channels - in-store, mobile app, and websites.
 

What you'll bring:

Senior-level experience building production web apps (typically 5+ years or equivalent impact).

Deep fluency with React, TypeScript, modern JavaScript (ES2015+), HTML, and CSS.

Strong grasp of component architecture, state management, data-fetching and REST integration on the client.

Proven track record improving performance (bundle size, LCP/INP).

Comfort with unit testing (Jest/Vitest + Testing Library) and CI/CD.

Excellent collaboration and communication; ability to break down ambiguous problems.

Nice to have:

React Native experience or clear interest in learning it. Familiarity with mobile UI patterns and navigation.

Basics of native platforms (Swift/Kotlin), app store release processes, or mobile performance tuning.

Node/Express or BFF experience.

Firebase/push notifications/3rd-party SDKs as applicable.

What you'll do:

Own complex frontend features from design review through production, with a focus on performance and reliability.

Build and evolve reusable, well-typed React components and patterns used across multiple react native based mobile apps.

Lead data-fetching, state management, and caching strategies (e.g., Redux/Context + React Query).

Collaborate closely with Design and Product; give and receive thoughtful code reviews and mentor other engineers.

Instrument analytics, logging, and error monitoring to "measure what matters."

Contribute to our testing strategy (unit, integration, and E2E) and CI/CD pipelines.
