Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM AWST
Client Timezone: Derby, WA
Total Weekly Hours: 20 hours

With a team of 45 professionals and a strong network of skilled educators, the company is recognized for delivering high-quality, life-saving education.

Our client is seeking a part-time Accounting Assistant (Xero Specialist Bookkeeper) to support the finance team. In this role, you will handle day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, prepare financial reports, and help ensure smooth financial operations. You’ll use modern accounting software, collaborate with a supportive team, and have opportunities to grow in a dynamic environment.



Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately manage weekly payroll processing, including timesheet verification and leave applications.

  • Oversee weekly superannuation payments, ensuring full compliance with Australian regulations.

  • Handle client invoicing and implement effective strategies for following up on outstanding payments.

  • Prepare and run weekly bill schedules, keeping financial obligations up to date.

  • Develop and maintain weekly cash flow reports to support business decision-making.

  • Manage accounts-related emails and client inquiries with professionalism and efficiency.

  • Compile monthly financial reports, including payroll tax reporting.

  • Support the finance team with a range of general bookkeeping duties.

  • Collaborate with the Australian-based team to ensure seamless financial operations.



Requirements
  • Proven proficiency in Xero accounting software.

  • Experience with Asana (or similar project management tools).

  • Familiarity with Employment Hero or other payroll management systems.

  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong accuracy in data entry and analysis.

  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines remotely.

  • Knowledge of—or willingness to quickly learn—Australian accounting practices and regulations.

  • Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a service-based industry.

  • Availability to align with Australian business hours.

  • Adaptability and eagerness to learn as the business evolves.
