To join our team as a Senior Energy Engineer! This position will empower a motivated engineer to make a difference in the energy-efficiency industry by leading innovative and technically robust solutions toward identifying efficiency opportunities and quantifying savings potential. The individual will develop and deliver energy efficiency and integrated demand side management solutions as they relate to our Strategic Energy Management Commercial and Industrial Programs.
Please note: while the role is remote, strong preference will be given to candidates located in the greater Los Angeles/Southern California area. Travel will consist mainly of day trips within the LA area, although occasional overnight stays may be necessary.

- Collaborate and work within a multi-disciplinary team to perform and lead technical work supporting strategic energy management, demand side management, and energy efficiency.
- Perform client engagements, especially technically related work in areas such as commercial building and industrial energy audits, retro-commissioning, or Building Automation System reviews.
- Conduct site visits with customers to discover energy savings opportunities in commercial and industrial sites, with an emphasis on discovering no- and low-cost savings.
- Document accurate, relevant information onsite to make recommendations in support of customer implementation that help overcome customer barriers.
- Calculate energy savings for projects in our programs using standard engineering principles including physics, mechanics, fan laws, thermodynamics, algebra, and statistics
- Present actionable and constructible measures on technical topics for customer implementation to a wide range of audience types.
- Lead important and complex technical work in our programs, independently and with minimal technical supervision.
- Identify, lead, and qualify custom/M&V projects in our programs (beyond deemed savings)
- Oversee the development of calculators and measure configurations within central database
- Perform ASHRAE level II audits unassisted at large commercial and industrial facilities; author IPMVP compliant plans and reports
- Established and trusted technical advisor to multiple large-scale programs
- Provide technical guidance and training to our program teams related to subject matter expertise (esp. custom/M&V projects)
- Subject matter expert in at least two significant technical areas
- Author work papers for new energy efficiency measures, with technical oversight
- Oversee technical feedback related to filings, utility commission documents, and program evaluations; provide formal recommendations to program staff
- Develop project scopes, with oversight from engineering management
- Work with clients and evaluators on project-specific issues
In this exciting career opportunity, you will have…
- 4-6 years’ experience
- BS Engineering degree
- PE preferred
- Building Automation System and/or Retro-Commissioning experience preferred
- Effective communication and presentation skills
Target Compensation
$120,000.00
