We have a great opportunity for a talented engineer to join our off-road vehicle (ORV) team as a Development Engineer. Based out of our Eden, Texas facility. Partner with the product and validation teams to develop field-based validation test methods for our Ranger, RZR, and ATV product lines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Develop trails, events, and procedures at Polaris Proving Grounds (PPG) to meet development and validation needs.
  • Instrumentation and field data collection of vehicle loads and temperatures.
  • Ensure test correlation to product-specific duty cycles and Reliability targets.
  • Instrumentation and field data collection of vehicle loads and temperatures.
  • Adapt test methodologies to address test detection needs as compared to customer usage and warranty.
  • Provide summaries of test cycles including details of events, comparison to consumer usage.
  • Create procedures to document the system validation process at PPG.
  • Train and mentor others in testing methodologies.
  • Specify and procure new test equipment.
  • Must be willing to travel periodically
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and meet OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to present self professionally and work with people outside of Polaris.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • B.S in Mechanical Engineering or Related
  • 6+ years related experience.
  • Hands-on knowledge of mechanical or electrical systems and problem-solving
  • Experience with data collection, data processing, and the application of Reliability principles to testing.
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Must be capable of operating ORVs in extreme conditions
  • Powersports experience preferred
