Principal Recruitment Consultant - Enigneering

Due to strong demand across the Engineering and Infrastructure sector in Western Australia, Brunel is expanding our team in Perth. We are looking for an experienced Principal Consultant to lead recruitment across the engineering consultancy space, focusing on both delivery and business development.

Brunel works with a wide range of Tier 1 and Tier 2 consultancies, engineering firms, and infrastructure specialists. With existing clients, signed terms, and a strong brand reputation, this is an opportunity to step into a warm desk and grow it further. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end recruitment assignments while actively identifying and securing new business opportunities.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the engineering sector and is motivated by the challenge of building lasting relationships with both candidates and clients. You will be trusted to operate with autonomy, while being supported by a collaborative and high-performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Full 360 recruitment – from sourcing and screening to offer negotiation and post-placement care
• Proactive business development, including identifying new clients, setting meetings, and negotiating terms of business
• Develop strong relationships with existing clients and identify areas to grow accounts
• Work with internal systems to manage job flow, pipelines, and reporting
• Use a variety of sourcing strategies including LinkedIn, job boards, networking, and referrals
• Partner with technical hiring managers to understand project requirements and role briefs
• Act as a trusted advisor to both candidates and clients in the engineering consultancy sector

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience in a 360 recruitment role, ideally within engineering or technical verticals
• A strong understanding of or interest in the infrastructure and engineering consultancy space
• Confident in business development with a demonstrated ability to win new clients
• Excellent time management, attention to detail, and follow-through
• A people-first mindset with strong relationship-building skills
• Self-motivated and comfortable working in a mature, autonomous environment
