The Role:
Our site in San Luis Obispo, CA. is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join our team. The Manufacturing Technician will be responsible for performing tasks related to building Ultra High Purity Systems and subassemblies in a class 100 cleanroom work environment. This will include, but not limited to: mechanical and electrical assembly based on engineering drawings and/or work instructions while wearing required cleanroom garments and protective equipment. This position is expected to always operate in a safe manner and comply with all applicable work instructions.
***This is a 1-year contract position with the potential to convert to direct-hire.
In this role you will:
- Works from instructions, drawings, schematics, piping and instrumentation drawings, illustrations, and process documentation to assemble a variety of mechanical, electrical subassemblies and systems with supervision.
- Ability to work in Class 100 (ISO 5) environment wearing the appropriate required garments.
- Ability to follow verbal instructions.
- Ability to build sub-assemblies with supervision.
- Install tube fittings using VCR, and Compression fittings with supervision.
- Follow engineering and customer requirement specifications to produce quality and accurate products in a timely manner.
- Performs routine, repetitive assembly operations and processes to produce quality and accurate products in a timely manner.
- Complete 6S responsibilities (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain, safety).
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment and maintain or increase On-Time Shipments.
- Ability to work safely and recognize the safety of others.
- Provide accuracy and consistency in work performance.
- Learn proper measuring techniques, tool use, care, and quality standards.
- Work with a team as well as independently when needed.

Traits we believe make a strong candidate:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 0-2 years’ experience mechanical assembly and/or relevant experience.
- Ability to learn to navigate through operating system to find BOMs, drawings and instructions.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs daily.
- Ability to climb ladders and be on your feet for extended periods of time.
- Focus on attention to detail to drive plant safety and product quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
- Ability to learn how handle material responsibly.
- Dependability and flexibility to work over-time and weekends to support business needs.
