The Cesium spacecraft team is looking for Summer 2024 interns to design, build, and test satellite electrical systems. Spacecraft electrical interns will work closely with Cesium engineers on product development, design, test, and manufacturing of electrical systems and components for Cesium’s satellite. Areas of focus will include power budgets; power generation, storage, and supply; harnessing; payload interfacing; and electrical test design and execution. Assignments will be determined by a mix of project availability and the interests of the successful candidates.  Cesium interns regularly present their work to peers, mentors, and Cesium executive leadership throughout the course of the summer. As such, excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.  To apply, please include a cover letter describing your interest in space systems or communication systems.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Science (MS), or Ph.D. program in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an accredited university. 
  • GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Upper-level undergraduate coursework or CubeSat projects involving electrical analysis and test, power budgets, harnessing, and avionics. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with small spacecraft and space communication systems electrical aspects. 
  • Programming (C/C++, Python, MATLAB, etc.). 
  • EMI/EMC experience. 
  • Advanced coursework experience in digital, analog, and/or RF circuit design.
