Patient Access Representative

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Patient Access Representative to join our healthcare team. This position serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a critical role in ensuring accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and demographic data entry. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, experience working within healthcare systems, and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct patient interviews to gather demographic, insurance, and personal information.
• Accurately enter and update patient information within the hospital information system.
• Verify insurance coverage and ensure all required documentation is collected.
• Assist patients with registration, admissions, and check-in/check-out processes.
• Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Resolve patient inquiries professionally and provide excellent customer service.
• Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure accurate patient records.
• Review and validate patient information for completeness and accuracy.
• Support access management and account maintenance activities as required.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in Patient Registration, Patient Access, Medical Reception, or Healthcare Administration.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Ability to accurately enter and manage data while maintaining attention to detail.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and patient demographic documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Epic EMR.
• Experience with Active Directory and access management processes.
• Healthcare or hospital registration experience.
• Familiarity with patient scheduling and insurance eligibility verification.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, CA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
