Job Description

The Supply Chain Commodity Director is responsible for the global Elbit America corporate category management strategy development and implementation with our main suppliers for the key commodities as a basis for long-term relationship and mutual success. Elbit America operating from several development and manufacturing sites supporting nine business units. Our ability to assure high quality products, on time delivery and competitive advantage is reliant significantly on our supply resiliency and capable supplier base. The Supply Chain CommodityDirector will be responsible for the big picture in terms of the business needs, spend volume, trends and long terms goals and develop, manage and maintain the relationships internally and externally with all the stakeholders involved. This position will be responsible for leveraging economies of scale with the main Supply Chain commodities types, bundle the volume from all sites and business units and continuously improve our position for long term agreements. This role includes:

  • Managing a group of categories (commodity) managers, mainly: Mechanics, Electronics, Optics, IT and Logistics
  • Analyze Elbit America sites procurement spend, bundle the volume and leverage commercial and operational terms
  • Analyze Elbit America supply base for the various categories for optimal support of the annual business volume
  • Responsible for the ongoing long term contracting to support business needs
  • Negotiating Long Term Agreements (LTA) and Volume Purchase Agreements (VPA) with the main suppliers
  • Lead global initiatives for continuous improvement including: cost reduction, advanced agreement for JIT models, on time delivery and on quality improvement and root cause analysis etc.
  • Manage Elbit America standards and customer flow down requirements to assure compliant suppliers HW delivery
  • Support the ORG overall development and digital transformation initiative for enhanced future capabilities
  • Effectively lead synergies and best practices implementation across sites 
  • Drive resolution for critical suppliers’ issues according to the program needs
  • Manage the relationship with strategic suppliers including conduction ongoing periodic business reviews
  • Work with site Supply Chain leads to evaluate and determine the needs for efficiencies improvement and risk management
  • Work with our international affiliates to identify opportunities for global initiatives and best practices implementation striving for business excellence
  • Develop training material and KPIs for Elbit America playbook for categories management
  • Support executive’s decision making for strategic long and short terms issues
  • Assure compliance by implementation of procedures to adhere to agreed-upon processes.

Qualifications

  • Requires a minimum of 8+ years of experience in supply chain and procurement from leading industrial companies
  • Proven experience with previous roles as Supply Chain Categories Management Lead in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
  • Specific Commodity Management experience for mechanics, Electronics, IT with wide US supply base
  • Outstanding leadership, negotiating, communication and managerial skills
  • Extensive data analytics experience a requirement
  • BS or BA degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations or equivalent related is required.  MBA or Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Green Belt or Yellow Belt certification with training or project completion preferred.
  • ERP background, 8+ years of ERP experience (or equivalent) is required.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of long-term agreements and vendor relationship management.
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
  • Excellent in creating detailed and graphical presentations to leadership.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel,
