We are led by technologists/business veterans and backed by investors committed to helping customers scale ML at the edge.Responsibilities: As Sr. Director of Physical Design Engineering, you will lead and co-manage the in-house physical design effort of the SiMa’s MLSoC™ Machine Learning SoC. Key responsibilities include driving design methodology, cross geography team execution, cross-functional collaboration, external party management and project/program management of the physical design milestones. You will also ensure design flows are scalable and reusable for future projects, with a strong focus on automation and optimization for high-performance MLSoC architectures & external IPs.Areas of Focus and Key Responsibilities:

Provide hands-on technical leadership, prioritization, within physical design team and negotiate technical requirements with cross functional teams (design, DFT, operations)
Project management of various PD phases from RTL handoff to sign off. Negotiate inter-discipline handoff criteria, resource planning, assignment and execution tracking.
Management of IP deliveries and integration Investigate, review and Manage EDA tools selection

Mandatory:

BSCS or MSCS with ~15 years of experience, with at least 8 years of experience managing cross site team over at least 3 tape out to silicon success projects
In-depth experience in all aspects of physical design from RTL to GDS using advanced geometry technology
Demonstrated people management track record, over multiple geographies, while managing SOC physical design projects.
Deep-rooted understanding of all phases of physical design, checkpoints, entry and exit criterias of each phase.
Hands on expertise in at least 2 in-depth area such as place and route, static timing, EM/IR or Physical verification signoff
Experience with technology node of 7 nm or below
Experienced in scaling team in both US and oversea design center such as India region
Proven track record of leading teams to deliver on time with high quality in a fast paced startup environment.
Proven ability to work with architects, designers, DFT and post-silicon teams
Strong collaboration skills with excellent written and verbal communication to ensure smooth cross-functional team interaction.
Expertise in risk management and conflict resolution within complex SoC projects, ensuring alignment of timelines and quality expectations.

Desirable:

Post silicon success of advanced technologies below 5 nm or automotive quality grade produce
Front end and DFT conceptual understanding.
Flow/methodology development experience using wide range of EDA tools
Automotive grade design spec decision-making related to timing signoff margins, reliability verification specification and DFM strategies.

The annual salary for this position ranges from $260,000 to $326,000. The actual annual salary paid for this position will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, skills, prior experiences, qualifications, expertise, work location, total target compensation, training, company needs, and current market demands. The annual salary range for this position is subject to change and may be adjusted in the future.
