Advanced Practice Nurse, Wellness Center

Description:

The Advanced Practice Nurse, under the supervision of the Wellness Center Director and Managing Physician, will provide assessments, diagnosis, treatment and referral for acute illness and injury and reproductive health services, within the college age population. Candidates must be able to use diagnostic tools such as a spirometer, microscope and rapid tests. Candidates must be flexible to meet the needs of the Wellness Center during the week and on occasional weekends and evenings.  The successful candidate will support outreach initiatives, perform group presentations, conduct research, participate in multidisciplinary treatment teams and collaborate with mental health providers.

 Requirements:

• Valid and current NJ license as an APN, FNP or PNP.
• Master or DNP degree as a nurse practitioner from an accredited college or university.
• Valid and current Advanced Practice National Nurse Certification (ANA, ANCC or AANP).
• Valid and current prescriptive authority including DEA license and NPI.
• Current CPR-Healthcare provider level certification.
• Working knowledge of a variety of computing systems, electronic medical records, email and internet.
• Demonstrated ability to elicit medical health histories, conduct physical examinations, gynecologic examinations including pelvic exams and Pap smears and use appropriate medical instruments and devices. Experience with ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as lab and ultrasound results.

Preferred Experience:

• College health, emergency care, primary care, or pediatric/adolescent and gynecologic/reproductive health experience.
• Must be competent in health promotion education, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, trans-cultural care, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
• 2 years or more of experience as a nurse practitioner.

Salary & Benefits:

• In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is CWA: Range 31 Step 1 ($101,707).
