Job Description

The Field Geologist position typically includes both field and office work; however, successful candidates must demonstrate a capability and commitment to conduct field work for extended hours (sometimes under adverse weather conditions) and be willing to stay overnight near the project site (if they do not live sufficiently close) to allow for daily round-trip travel to the site.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Geology, Engineering (water resource-related), or similar scientific field from an accredited university
  • 3+ years of experience
  • At minimum, a Geologist-in-Training certificate
  • Ability and willingness to regularly work in the field, sometimes for extended periods away from the office

Preferred qualifications include the following:

  • Geologic and groundwater field data collection and analysis experience
  • Well drilling oversight, coring, packer, and aquifer performance testing experience
  • Technical report writing skills
  • Regulatory submittal (e.g., Water Use and/or Injection Well permitting) experience
  • Proficiency in the following software: Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), ArcGIS, AQTESOLV, STRATER, and/or other similar types of technical, hydrogeologic, engineering and water resource assessment and management related software.

Additional Information

Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise. Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe-benefits package. RESPEC is a 100% employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) after a qualifying period.
