About the role
Join us as a Senior Chassis Suspension Design Release Engineer, where you'll shape the future of autonomous mobility. Using CATIA V6, you’ll design and release chassis components for active suspension, collaborating with tier-one suppliers to meet cost, weight, timing, and performance targets. You’ll develop mechatronic units, hydraulic pumps, valves, accumulators, and controllers while working closely with electrical and software teams. You'll also drive engineering milestones, validation plans, FMEAs, and PLM releases, ensuring seamless vehicle integration and testing. In this role, you will:
- You will design, in CATIA V6, prototype hardware and electromechanical systems
- You will generate 2D drawing packages for fabrication and assembly
- You will evaluate the static, dynamic, structural, and thermal-mechanical performances of mechanical assemblies
- You will collaborate with suppliers to manage designs and design documents and execute engineering disciplines and component deliveries
- You will track and execute design validation plans, review and develop FMEAs, and prepare design review documentation
- You will collaborate with different Zoox teams for the manufacturing, assembly, and bring up of the robots
Qualifications
- BS in mechanical engineering with 5+ years of experience in vehicle engineering, chassis systems design, and component delivery
- Understanding of hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and system architecture
- Experienced in testing and vehicle development
- Knowledge of automotive program development/release process and long-term schedule planning
- Proficiency with CATIA V5 or V6 CAD software
Bonus Qualifications
- Advanced degrees - MS or Ph.D. degree is a plus
- CAN & Network skills
- Experience at automotive OEM or significant Tier 1
