The Boeing BGS Group is currently looking for an Entry-Level Manufacturing Engineering Planners (2nd Shift) to join the team in Seattle, WA. The Supply Chain Engineering team is responsible for providing world-class engineering support and parts to ensure the successful operations of our Commercial and Government customers.

The Entry-Level Manufacturing Engineering Planners assists in development, implementation and maintenance of various manufacturing plans, Bill of Materials, work instructions and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration. Assists in the identification of tooling requirements and processing tooling orders based on manufacturing and engineering requirements. Assists in investigation and resolution of manufacturing related issues. Collects data to support producibility assessments for part or product designs. Assists in developing work statements and sequencing limited scope with internal business partners. Assists in the review, maintenance and monitoring of internal documents. Works under close supervision. This role will be focused on support and administration of a Supply Chain parts management application. The Manufacturing Planner role will serve as Emergent Requirements to customers by providing 24x7 liaison support on engineering issues and concerns that arise around planning efforts.

The selected candidate will work under general supervision to support a cross-functional team of manufacturing planners, product support engineers and supply chain analysts. 

Regular 2nd shift start time must be between 2PM-4PM and must be able to work any hours as needed to support emergent customer requirements, including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate directly with customers to provide education and clarification to support a wide range of technical issues.
  • Validate parts are FAA certified, document part interchangeability, create Spares preferred part configuration, coordinate with Engineering, and communicate with customers for order clarification.
  • Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, standards, regulations, and data from multiple sources to develop recommendations and best approach to meet customer requirements.
  • Maintain material masters in SAP. This includes QBS creation for Engineering and Tooling.
  • Procure, transfer and process both vendor and proprietary parts.
  • Work with Engineering to address interchangeability issues.
  • Work with suppliers to determine part configuration for interim part numbers; Create and maintain supplier specification plans and shallow Bill of Material in PDM and CAPP for Boeing proprietary, vendor, standards, GSE and raw material part numbers.
  • Ability to determine processes required to fabricate the parts (metallic and non-metallic).
  • Ability to determine tooling requirements for fabricating the parts and what type of tools can be worked around if required.
  • Ability with suppliers to confirm location and condition of tools.
  • Provide resolution for incoming requests for assistance.
  • Provide technical assistance to internal and external customers by evaluating and resolving complex customer spares procurement issues. 
  • Work under general direction.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must be able to work any hours as needed to support emergent customer requirements, including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • 1+ years of experience with engineering technical data (detailed engineering drawings, CAD models, schematics, etc)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Associate’s degree or higher, a technical certificate or degree, or 1 or more years of equivalent technical manufacturing planning experience.
