Position open to: College of Education undergraduate students. Open to work study and non-work study students.
Weekly scheduled hours: 10 - 15 hours per week
Position Duration: Expected to continue through the end of the Fall 2025 semester with the potential to be extended
Purpose
Career Peer Advisors are current undergraduates enrolled in The College of Education who will work with fellow undergraduate students in the College’s Student Affairs Office. The goal is to provide undergraduates extended access to College of Education career services and support the needs of our students. This role will receive extensive training in the policies and procedures within the University and The College of Education. Career Peer Advisors are expected to become familiar with all services offered by the Texas Education Career Engagement office within the College of Education, including resume writing, interview preparation, mock interviews, job/internship fairs, career exploration, and other career related student resources.
Responsibilities
Assist with front desk duties, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, serving as lunch and evening coverage for the desk administrators.
Collaborate with College of Education’s First Year Interest Groups (FIG) and Transfer Interest Groups (TrIGS) facilitators to offer career services workshops.
Help manage and maintain the Texas Education Career Engagement Canvas pages.
Offer 1:1 career peer advising appointments to support student needs and help their understanding of UT and CoE policies and procedures.
Partner with Career Coaches to conduct outreach to current students, graduating seniors, alumni and other necessary student support efforts
Assist Employer Engagement and Alumni Coordinator with recruitment outreach projects including phone campaigns, virtual presentations, and yield events.
Attend required CoE events, meetings, and trainings.
Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Current, full-time enrollment as an undergraduate student in the College of Education
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. This position requires a social security number and work authorization. Students with DACA are eligible.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Salary Range
$15 per hour
Working Conditions
Work performed in standard office conditions.
Repetitive use of keyboard at a workstation.
Work Shift
Flexible hours to be scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some prescheduled evening and potential weekend hours
