Turner & Townsend seeks a driven and highly motivated Financial Accounting Coordinator to support Turner & Townsend's Seattle construction management team. The ideal candidate will be skilled with managing financials, accounting and numbers with limited supervision.
Job Description
- Provide financial, budgeting and planning analysis on a broad array of initiatives.
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with leadership to support decision making through forecasting, budgeting and long-range planning.
- Review, analysis and reporting of financial and cost data.
- Ensure transparent and consistent adherence to local financial accounting laws and principles including tax and duties issues.
- Develop, implement and update Project Accounting Plans.
- Manage the interface to affiliates finance - respectively procurement department.
- Agree on systems and requirements with local finance department and set up the work breakdown structure using local accounting system coding.
- Establish contact with the Local Accounting Director and secure the secondment of one of the Affiliate’s Accountants to the project team.
- Implement the project financial accounting procedures and systems.
- Define roles and responsibility, process and cost coding with local departments with placing purchase orders and execute invoicing.
- Provide actual cost data from accounting system.
- Ensure actual data figures in Local Accounting System are project related and coded accurately
- Reconcile cost data of project cost ledger(s) and accounting system(s).
- Administer (sub-) contracts and purchase orders including associated insurance policies, bank guarantees and project assets.
- Administer change order, mobilization and (pre-) authorization logs.
- Support financial project close-out.
- Ensure that the Project Financial Accounting Process is carried out in accordance with the Project Financial Accounting Procedure and the Project Financial Accounting Plan.
- Ensure transparent and consistent adherence to local financial accounting laws and principle including tax and duties issues.
Qualifications
- Experience working in financial/accounting, and administrative roles.
- Outstanding financial and accounting skills.
- Understanding of the invoicing process, Accounts Payable, etc.
- Experienced preparing financial reports and presentations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Construction Management or Engineering.
- Experience working on construction projects desirable but not required.
- Applied experience using financial management software.
- Skilled with identifying and streamlining new processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including great communication.
- Ability to demonstrate collaborative behaviors.
- Proactive, organized and thorough with a strong work ethic.
- High IT literacy. Experience of analysing data and presenting Management Information is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Self-starter which requires minimal supervision.
- Able to apply governance, maintain quality and rigid QA/QC.
Additional Information
The salary range for this full-time role is $85K-$100K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
