Materials Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Materials Management Team is a vital part of the Fanatics supply chain through the daily receipt, inventory, distribution, and issuance of materials within our Fulfillment and Manufacturing facilities. The Materials Supervisor will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities across multiple sites and exceeding customer expectations by leading continuous improvement in all aspects of the materials management area.   

 

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Adheres to all Department and Company Standards, Operating Procedures and Safety Requirements.
• Facilitation of the day-to-day function of the Materials team to include but not limited to:
  • Daily assignments to the team and monitor performance.
  • Daily approval of timecards
  • Performance evaluations to include auditing, training, and recommendation for promotions Performance Improvement Plans. 
  • Performance management to include coaching, corrective action, suspension and up to and including recommendation to Senior Leadership for separation.
  • Consistent communication with internal customers to understand requirements and lead Materials team accordingly. 
• Facilitation of accurate and timely non-inventory materials inventory across the Direct-to-Consumer network. 
  • Review weekly and monthly inventories to identify trends and/or actionable items
  • Assist onsite Material Coordinators with establishing and/or maintaining inventory levels necessary to support facilities. 
• Oversight of Material Coordinators in the creation and management of non-materials purchase orders. 
  • Approval responsibilities for purchase orders submitted by Material Coordinators
  • Ensure all outgoing purchase orders are in accordance with company procedures and standards.   
  • Verify that POs properly closed out
  • Coordinate setup of new vendors
  • Assume PO creation duties for local sites if Material Coordinator is not available
  • Coordinate with internal Accounts Payable department and materials vendors to ensure accounts remain current
• Communicate with vendors and internal customer to resolve escalated materials issues that impact operations
  • Investigate and resolve defective product issues
  • Work with vendor to confirm product lead times meet internal project timelines
  • Establish contingency plans to minimize material shortages 
• Facilitation of material forecasts across network 
  • Maintain and distribute weekly forecasts reports for key vendors
  • Collaborate with local Material Coordinators to track material usage across DTC network.   
  • Track pricing changes across all sites and callout trends or anticipated impacts to the business. 
  • Perform back testing on forecasted data to ensure accuracy
• Oversight of insert inventory program across FC network to include but not limited to: 
  • Ensure insert inventory is accurate and reporting is completed within expected timeframes 
  • Work with internal teams to develop and maintain future insert volume forecasts   
  • Periodic FIFO audits
  • Expiration date tracking and coordination of disposal

  EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree or 3-5 years of related experience in Fulfillment, Distribution, or Manufacturing

• Ability to manage multiple projects.
• Flexible hours to ensure business needs are met.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Experience using warehouse-based software.
• Experience supporting hourly population in environments such as manufacturing, distribution, and/or call centers
• Experience presenting content in a variety of settings
• Ability to influence peers and leaders across the company to drive the right outcomes; strong and proven influencing skills.
• Written communication:  writes clearly and informatively, presents numerical data effectively, able to read and interpret written information.
