The Role
We are seeking a Head of Portfolio Data Operations who excels in strategic problem-solving, innovative thinking, and strategic execution, with a proven track record of building impactful teams focused on operational excellence. This role is based in Addepar’s Edinburgh, UK office!
As part of the wider Addepar Data organisation, the Portfolio Data Operations team is responsible for ensuring Addepar's clients have timely and high-quality data. This includes overseeing the processing of portfolio transactions and positions, diligently completing verification checks, and assisting clients with their data support queries. The Data Operations group is central to Addepar's activity and requires daily communication with financial data providers, clients, and colleagues across the company.
As the global leader of the Portfolio Data Operations team, you will leverage your expertise to drive key strategic operations initiatives that unlock efficiency, deliver high-quality data to clients, and mitigate operational risk. You'll collaborate closely with your team and Engineering & Product leaders to identify opportunities for scaling through automation and modern operator tooling and champion the transformation of the Data Operations function. This position requires a strong people leader with a track record of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for portfolio data operations, aligning with Addepar's business objectives and corporate growth plans.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organisation's evolving needs and ensure the data operations strategy is closely aligned with these goals.
- Provide leadership on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the data operations function.
Operational Management:
- Oversee the spectrum of operational workflows for portfolio and aggregator data feeds.
- Maintain effective process controls to ensure quality standards, and organisational objectives and deliverables are achieved.
- Implement robust KPI tracking, metrics, and analytics to measure operational effectiveness, resource utilisation, operations scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
Maturity and Optimisation:
- Identify and seize opportunities for process automation and innovation, contributing to the evolution of Addepar’s Data Operations function and scaling impact globally.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to design, test, and implement new processes and tooling features that improve data quality as well as increase operational efficiency.
Strategic-Tactical Balance:
- Operate comfortably at both the strategic level, influencing key decision-makers, and the hands-on level, actively engaging with data operations workflows to help review, manage, and/or address data inquiries and requests from clients and internal stakeholders.
- Be prepared to get involved directly when necessary to address tactical challenges and ensure successful operation.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including the other Data Operations teams, Go-to-market/services, Engineering, Product, IT, Finance, and other business units, to ensure alignment and integration of data operations initiatives.
People Management and Culture:
- Mentor managers/leads and consistently promote knowledge sharing and best practices across all teams.
