Job Description – Senior Java Platform Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Platform Engineer with strong expertise in modern Java technologies, platform engineering, distributed systems, and cloud-native application development. The ideal candidate will have experience building enterprise-scale frameworks, APIs, and event-driven solutions while driving engineering standards and platform capabilities across teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 17/21+ and Spring Boot (3.x preferred).
- Proven experience building shared frameworks, platform services, and reusable enterprise components, beyond traditional application development.
- Strong expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs and implementing OpenAPI specifications.
- Experience building and supporting event-driven architectures using Kafka.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and related design patterns, including:
- Resilience engineering
- Retry mechanisms
- Circuit breaker implementation
- Fault tolerance and high availability
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to design scalable, maintainable, and high-performance solutions.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience integrating with legacy enterprise systems, including:
- z/OS
- Mainframe environments
- CIS platforms
- Hands-on experience with Redis, Kafka, and Oracle in high-volume production environments.
- Strong understanding of modern security practices, including:
- OAuth 2.0
- OpenID Connect (OIDC)
- Secrets management
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring platforms such as:
- Splunk
- Dynatrace
- Prometheus
- Grafana
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and standardized build frameworks using:
- Gradle
- Jenkins
- GitLab
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies:
- Kubernetes
- OpenShift
- Experience working with cloud platforms, with Microsoft Azure preferred.

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is $73,150 to $174,000
