Commercial Truck Porter

Bollinger Motors is seeking a Commercial Truck Porter to be responsible for safe and efficient movement, parking, and cleanliness of our brand-new Electric Class 4 production vehicles. This position reports to the MP&L Manager. This is an in-person role at our Livonia Assembly Plant location, periodically working at the Oak Park, MI headquarters.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Safely move Class 4, 5, and 6 electric chassis cabs units from production End of Line (EOL), into repair area or outside to designated parking area.
• Park vehicles in designated parking area, ensuring they are properly aligned and spaced, locked and paperwork is in order.
• Maintain an orderly and neat vehicle lot by organizing and arranging vehicles systematically for outbound shipments.
• Receive and gather proper paperwork, keys and outbound information for each unit after
• Conduct basic inspections to ensure vehicles are free from damage and report any issues to the quality department after EOL.
• Take direction from outbound logistics to stage units for pick up to be transported by 3rd party transporters daily. Assure paperwork, keys, any accessories/options are in vehicle and unit is ready to be handed off to transporters.
• For outbound daily shipments, units need to be moved out of parking area and into staging lanes to be ready for scheduled transporters to pick up.
• Coordinate with outbound logistics for daily shipments to assure correct VIN units are prepared, staged, with all proper documents, to hand off keys to transporters.
• Oversee transporters loading or unloading production units, to assure units are properly handled, driven, inspected and loaded properly.
• Assure all paperwork is submitted to outbound logistics team so that shipments can be released and tracked.
• Perform miscellaneous clean-up of shop and yard.
• Periodically assist warehouse, quality and/or manufacturing team with any other duties as needed.
• Perform basic cleaning tasks such as washing, vacuuming, and detailing vehicles as needed.

Requirements

Education, Skills and Knowledge

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Minimum of two years of related experience preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Must possess a Commercial Driver's License - valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License preferred
• Clean Driving Record (ability to pass DOT background check) and ability to pass a DOT physical/drug screening.
• Knowledge of truck transportation, plant logistics and warehouse operations a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Attention to detail and a high sense of urgency is mandatory.
