Job Description

Position Summary:

The Sr. Manufacturing Project Engineer is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing capital projects throughout Hi-Cone’s manufacturing process. Projects include addressing obsolescence, capacity needs, and inefficiencies with a focus on Hi-Cone’s sustainable portfolio transformation. This is a hands-on role that will support projects across all global locations and is based out of our Itasca, Illinois facility.

Primary Responsibilities:

Capital Projects

• Responsible for key project categories and identifying and developing capital projects within each category. Projects center around driving higher efficiency, addressing plant capacity needs, and addressing the obsolescence of currently installed equipment. These projects are to be rooted in Hi-Cone’s sustainability objectives.
• Manage the execution of capital projects, including developing project scope, developing machinery specifications, coordinating outside resources, scheduling to minimize interruptions to operations, and delivering on time and on budget.

Operational Support

• Develop and implement updated processes around spare parts, preventative maintenance, and other continuous improvement exercises.

Other Responsibilities

• Participate on a cross-functional team focused on manufacturing process PFMEA.
• Support cross-functional teams in developing the manufacture of alternate products in line with Hi-Cone’s sustainable portfolio evolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• 5-7 Years of Expereince 
• Experience managing multiple projects of $1M+ and projects affecting multiple sites in a manufacturing setting.  Experience managing international projects is preferred.
• PMP certification is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD, preferably Solidworks and/or AutoCAD
• High level of written and oral communication skills, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability, including the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Able to work in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with multiple departments
• Self-starter with a lot of energy to see projects through to completion and takes accountability for all aspects of managed projects
• Ability to travel as needed per project – up to 20%
