Senior Manager – M&A Integration Office

Position Summary

The Integration Management Office (IMO) leads the strategic planning, execution, and governance of post-merger integration initiatives to deliver targeted business, financial, and operational outcomes. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring that strategic deal rationales translate into measurable synergies and long-term value creation.

The Senior Manager of Merger Integration plays a key leadership role in planning, coordinating, and executing all aspects of post-merger integration activities. This role ensures that business, operational, cultural, and technological elements from the acquired company are successfully integrated to maximize deal value. Working closely with functional leaders, executive management, and external advisors, the Senior Manager drives cross-functional workstreams, manages timelines and dependencies, and mitigates risks to achieve synergy and operational goals.

Reports To: VP M&A Integration and Leader of the Integration Management Organization (IMO)

Key Responsibilities

Integration Strategy & Planning

  • Partner with executive sponsors and IMO leadership to develop the overall integration strategy, roadmap, and success metrics.
  • Translate high-level deal objectives into detailed integration plans, timelines, and workstreams.
  • Identify and prioritize synergy opportunities and risk mitigation measures.

Program Management

  • Lead day-to-day program management of multiple integration workstreams across business functions (e.g., Finance, HR, IT, Operations, Sales, Marketing), across multiple deals.
  • Coordinate activities between acquiring and acquired company teams to ensure smooth transition and business continuity.
  • Develop and maintain integration dashboards, status reports, and issue logs for executive leadership.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Serve as the primary liaison between functional leads, IMO leadership, and executive sponsors.
  • Prepare and deliver clear communications of status, deliverables, risks, and issues to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate decision-making by escalating issues and providing recommended solutions.

Change Management & Culture Integration

  • Partner with HR and communications teams to develop change management strategies that address cultural alignment, talent retention, and employee engagement.
  • Identify cultural differences and develop actions to ensure smooth integration of values, leadership styles, and ways of working.

Performance Tracking & Synergy Realization

  • Monitor integration performance against defined KPIs, synergy targets, and operational objectives.
  • Identify and address deviations from plan, adjusting strategy as needed.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 7-10+ years of experience in M&A integration, management consulting, corporate development, or related program management roles.
  • Proven track record managing complex, multi-function projects in large organizations.
  • Experience managing integrations of companies in tech, software, or complex industries.  Solar or construction industry experience is a plus.
     

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong program and project management skills, including use of PMO tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and drive results in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in synergy modeling and performance tracking.
  • Deep understanding of business operations, corporate functions, and technology integration.
