Title: Financial Analyst

About the Position
The Financial Analyst supports the Finance & Accounting team by assisting with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to help the organization make informed financial decisions. Working under the supervision of the Finance & Accounting Manager, the role collaborates with departments across the organization to monitor financial performance, prepare departmental and program reports, and ensure the accuracy of financial data. The Financial Analyst works closely with the Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Procurement teams to support financial operations and maintain effective financial processes.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
• Conduct variance analysis comparing actual results to budgets and forecasts, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for management review.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including financial statements and management reports.
• Prepare and analyze departmental and program financial reports, identifying variances, trends, and areas for improvement to support leadership decision-making.
• Support the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting, working with departments and program managers to ensure accurate financial planning.
• Support the Mission Advancement team by ensuring financial compliance with grant requirements and preparing financial statements on programs.
• Perform cost-benefit analyses to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of current programs and operational expenditures.
• Develop and maintain financial models and analytical tools to support financial planning, program evaluation, and organizational decision-making.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement in D365 system, including financial reporting, data integrity, and operational efficiency.
• Maintain and review general ledger (GL) accounts, ensuring accurate coding, reconciliations, and integrity of financial data.
• Monitor and track work-in-progress (WIP) projects and capital expenditures, coordinating with the Procurement team to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting.
• Work closely with the Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Procurement teams to support financial operations, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate financial records
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis requested by the Manager and Director.
• Promote and uphold safe work practices through awareness, training, and reporting of potential hazards.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of progressive financial analysis experience.
• Proficient in financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting.
• Prior experience in nonprofit accounting is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of and experience with D365, and Power BI.
• Proven ability to analyze large amounts of data and provide actionable insights
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
