Field/Project Operations Internship- Heavy Civil Infrastructure Summer 2027 - VA

<p><strong>We are looking for Summer 2027 Interns!</strong></p> <p><strong>Fay, S&amp;B USA Construction</strong> builds complex infrastructure across the Mid-Atlantic such as major bridges, tunnels, highways, and P3 programs that demand technical depth and strong field leadership. Our interns are assigned meaningful duties, which help advance the efforts of the company and give the students a broad introduction to the field of Civil Engineering.</p> <p><strong>Field/ Project Operations Intern</strong></p> <p><strong>General Operations:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assist in material orders with permanent and temporary suppliers</li> <li>Assist in coordination between Fay and subcontractors</li> <li>Observe and understand different types of work within Fay’s self-performing activities</li> <li>Attend third party, internal Fay and external owner meetings</li> </ul> <p><strong>Safety:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Attend safety and operations meetings</li> <li>Fill out diary with descriptions</li> <li>Observe monthly audits with safety personnel</li> <li>Perform Eyes on Safety submissions</li> </ul> <p><strong>Schedule:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Attend look ahead meetings with the project staff and be able to compile/analyze a 3 week look ahead schedule</li> <li>Observe P6 scheduling</li> <li>Understand project milestones and phasing</li> </ul> <p><strong>Technical:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to understand plans, cross section and other technical documents for the project</li> <li>Perform quantity takeoff from plan sets for upcoming work and for temporary materials (formwork, rigging, etc)</li> <li>Utilize BlueBeam, AutoCAD, Site IQ/Drone programs to be able to assist in providing work plan packages to project staff</li> <li>Shadow surveyor and understand GPS/robotics setups of earth, roadway and structure control</li> <li>Shadow material testing concrete, embankment compaction, etc.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Costs:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Receive daily or weekly reports of cost/manhour data and be ab
