Job Summary
HRI, Inc., a leader in heavy civil construction since 1947, has an opening for an experienced and energetic Accountant in our State College office.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide support to Region Managers, Controllers, Area Managers,, Project Managers and Project Engineers
- Review month-end financials for accuracy. Process adjusting entries and reclassifications (as needed/directed by Controller/Project Managers)
- Prepare general ledger reconciliations on a monthly basis for select accounts
- Prepare Excel reports and other analysis as needed
- Independently prioritize workload to meet all deadlines
- Provide financial software support to personnel as needed
- Travel to area offices, construction projects, and manufacturing locations as needed
- Work with bookkeeping software
- Assist with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records
- Handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
- Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, invoices, and other documents
Education
- Bachelors degree preferably in Accounting or Business Administration with a focus in Accounting
- Valid driver's license
Skills
- Aptitude for math, proficiency with computers
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Ability to read and interpret documents, organize and analyze data
- Good interpersonal and teambuilding skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Maintains a valid driver’s license
- Maintains adequate transportation to work
- Adheres to safety procedures/guidelines at all times
- Punctuality, consistent attendance and self-direction
Physical Requirements
- Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Company safety guidelines
- Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
- Sitting and/or standing for long periods of time
- Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements
- Good work ethic, professional, and positive attitude
- Some travel might be required
