About the role

Position DescriptionThe primary role of the 1:1 Aide is to support scholars who need additional support in and outside of the classroom according to their IEP. This could include wheel chair assistance, toileting, lunch/snacks, small group instruction, and push-in classroom support, etc. The ideal candidate should have experience working with students with disabilities and additional physical support needs.
Job Responsibilities Assist scholars who need additional support in and outside the classroom. This could include wheel chair assistance, toileting, lunch/snacks, etc. Collaborate with scholars' general education and RSP teacherFacilitate reading intervention, small group instruction and pull out groupsConduct academic assessmentsProvide instruction in various drills and activities using learning strategies designed to introduce, reinforce, or modify skillsActively participate in professional development aimed at refining both school culture and academicsAssist teachers during the school day with instruction, oversight, and supervision of studentsFollow policies and procedures for health, safety, and nutritionMaintain high behavioral expectations for scholar behavior at all times and enforce Equitas Academy’s positive discipline policiesMaintain open lines of communication with staff, parents, and other stakeholdersMay provide adaptive supports with eating and toiletingPerform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:• AA degree or equivalent required• BA degree preferred • Knowledge and experience in ABA• Criminal clearance, including fingerprints and TB Test• Previous experience working with and supervising children• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred• Current CPR and 1st Aid Certificate within 3 months of employment
Salary:Starting at $21/hour. This is a full-time, hourly position with benefits.
