Legal Intern

POSITION SUMMARY:

IPG is offering a paid Legal internship for an undergraduate student interested in pursuing commercial or corporate law as a career. This is an exciting internship opportunity to work for one of the world’s leading marketing and advertising companies, with $9B in revenues and 57,000 employees doing business in 100 countries around the world. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Work closely with IPG’s legal department, gaining firsthand experience in various legal issues arising from ad campaigns, intellectual property issues, contracts and negotiations, and corporate legal issues
• Conduct legal research related to a variety of laws in areas such as advertising, privacy, and employment
• Exposure working on some aspects of litigation if the situation arises

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Full-time undergraduate
• Preferred Field of Study: Law, Legal Services
• Interest in marketing and advertising
• Team player with strong attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills, resourcefulness, and a collaborative approach
• Willingness to spend part of the time in the Manhattan headquarters

The salary range for this position is $16 to $18.  Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
