We design, develop, and manufacture cutting-edge, ruggedized military products for ground, maritime, and airborne applications.
We’re seeking a Technical Project Lead to join our growing organization to lead challenging avionics development efforts for DoD applications. As Technical Project Lead, you will have ownership for successful project completion including delegation of tasks to a multi-disciplinary team of electrical, mechanical, firmware, and software engineers as well as close coordination with the customer technical and programmatic team. Your role will cover both technical and managerial duties with expectations that you closely monitor and review the output from the technical team as well as that you manage the large number of document deliverables that are required for the development of safety-critical electronics. These activities cover what would be performed by large aerospace primes, but as a small business Intellisense requires that they be achieved with a mindset of pragmatism and simplification in order to provide lower cost and great agility without compromising quality.

What You Can Expect:

Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership, Design & Development
- Lead an engineering team in new product development to meet customer requirements and company objectives.
- Manage all customer deliverables including documents, artifacts, and presentations required for SFR, SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.
- Oversee design, analysis, and testing, ensuring compliance with MIL standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810, 461, 704) and meeting ruggedization, EMI/EMC, and power requirements.
- Manage the development of high-quality documentation packages, including management and execution of peer reviews, and formal release.
- Guide hardware/software integration and acceptance testing, providing oversight and feedback on deliverables.
- Engage in hands-on design, troubleshooting, and problem-solving as needed in areas of expertise.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Mentorship & Project Support
- Set expectations and offer exemplary work product examples to achieve the best work product from the engineering team.
- Collaborate with tech leads, program managers, and principal investigators on task assignments, budget allocation, and project planning.
- Provide technical insight, planning, and progress updates to stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved.
Requirements:
Technical Skills
- BS from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
- 10+ years of experience in the Engineering or Project Engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in aerospace, defense electronics, mission systems, or related high-reliability domains.
- Strong hands-on experience in designing and troubleshooting electronic, electromechanical, and/or software systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and systems engineering skills.
People & Communication Skills
- Collaborative and adaptable, able to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to customers, program managers, and technical teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
