Compensation - $17.72 - $22.15 per hour

Bromley East recognizes up to 11 years of relevant experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Co-planning, delivering, and reflecting upon daily lesson plans with classroom teachers.

• Assists in the supervision and activities for students.

• Monitors and assists with child behavior management.

• Monitors students in non-classroom settings, and assists with everyday situations.

• Attend various meetings as needed.

• Other duties as directed.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Skills:

• Strong communication skills: Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with students, teachers, and staff.

• Collaboration: Capable of working closely with classroom teachers and other staff members to support student learning and behavioral management.

• Classroom management: Skill in assisting with behavior management and maintaining a positive, organized learning environment.

• Time management and organization: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, including planning, monitoring, and assisting with activities.

• Adaptability: Flexibility in handling various situations and duties that arise in a school environment.

Knowledge:

• Educational practices: Familiarity with classroom management techniques, learning strategies, and child development.

• Behavioral management: Understanding of methods to support positive behavior in students and de-escalation techniques.

• Basic instructional support techniques: Knowledge of how to assist with delivering and reinforcing lesson content under the direction of a classroom teacher.

• Technology proficiency: Familiarity with common educational technologies and platforms used for instruction and communication.

Abilities:

• Relationship building: Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and families.

• Supervision: Capacity to monitor and assist students in various settings, ensuring their safety and promoting engagement.

• Problem-solving: Ability to think critically and adapt to various challenges and classroom needs as they arise.

• Initiative: Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and duties as directed, demonstrating a proactive attitude.

• Team-oriented: Strong ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other educational professionals to support the needs of students.

Education, Licensing and Experience

• High School Diploma required; Associates degree or college coursework preferred.

• Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
