Job description:
As a Sr. Cost Analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and optimizing costs incurred during our manufacturing processes. You'll delve into material costs and resource consumption, providing insightful breakdowns of cost summaries. Your expertise will be vital in comparing standard costs to actual costs, evaluating the absorption of variable and fixed overhead, and ensuring our processes are as efficient as possible. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to drive success and innovation.
Location: Brooklyn Park, MN (with divisional support during peak periods)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Key Responsibilities:
- Month-End Closing: Support the month-end closing process, prepare closing journal entries, and reconcile inventory balance sheets.
- Standard Costing: Ensure accurate standard costing, manage annual cost builds, prepare/review BOMs and routes, and load new products into the ERP system.
- Variance Analysis: Conduct variance and absorption analysis, report on scrap, rework, and other quality costs.
- Budget & Forecasting: Assist in annual budget preparation and quarterly/semi-annual re-forecasts.
- Inventory Management: Perform E&O reserve analysis, track inventory variations, coordinate physical and cycle counts, and analyze inventory carrying costs.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare internal management reports, including operational KPIs, cost estimates, trends, and PPV reporting.
Requirements
- Three to five (3-5) years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing facility, preferably in Medical Devices.
- Ability to understand complex manufacturing processes.
- Highly skilled in analytics and proficient with Advanced Excel functions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong demonstrated commitment to teamwork.
