Job Description

Job Overview
The Aviation Maintenance Lead Technician is responsible for conducting and overseeing all assigned maintenance duties required on all aircraft and coordinating activities to meet flight operations. This position is responsible for ensuring that all aircraft are dispatched with the safety of passengers and flight crew as top priority and will ensure that all maintenance performed either in house or at another agency adhered to manufacturers, FAA, and company policies. . Preserves the present and future value of all company aviation assets. Ensures that all corporate aircraft are maintained in an airworthy state that meets or exceeds all applicable FAA and international regulations, and department policies and procedures. Critical contributor to the ongoing success of company’s Safety Management System.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Director, Flight Operations with creation, evaluation and implementation of short and long range plans, aircraft acquisitions and dispositions, policies, and procedures Contributes to the creation, justification, execution and control of annual expense and capital budgets.
  • Maintaining a high degree of proficiency in the maintenance of company aircraft
  • Responsible for the proper handling of all parts while in the repair process
  • Ability to fully analyze all required blueprints, drawings, work orders and sketches in order to troubleshoot, repair and install desired product or part. Ability to detect errors and correct through proper departmental channels
  • Checking all mechanical components prior to installation to prevent damage
  • Accurately estimates hours and materials for scheduled jobs
  • Ability to operate all required ground support equipment
  • Ability to install and rig aircraft flight control surfaces
  • Ability to operate aircraft systems
  • Ability to inspect aircraft prior to takeoff for defects, such as fuel or oil leaks and malfunctions in electrical, hydraulic, or pressurization systems, according to preflight checklist.
  • Being present on maintenance check flights when required
  • Flexibility to work odd shift hours when the flight schedule dictates
  • Manages assigned tasks delivered by Director, Flight Operations, Responsible for leading the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned maintenance tasks. Responsible for mentoring maintenance technician team members in completion of tasks.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general computer knowledge.

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or GED required. Minimum of 8-10 years experience in corporate aircraft maintenance or related area preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must possess a valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings. Inspection Authorization certificate is preferred.
