Our fixed income indexing solutions include recognized branded indices such as those for stocks (S&P 500), Commodities (GSCI), bonds (iBoxx) and credit derivatives (CDX & iTraxx), to list a few.

The Team

Focused on developing solutions for a broad range of clients, the Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities (FICC) team is responsible for the P&L of outcome-oriented index solutions such as iBoxx bond and leveraged loan indices globally (including Sustainable Fixed Income indices), CDS indices, Commodities and Alternatives. This is an exciting opportunity to join a product team in a growth stage.

The Role

The team seeks a Associate Director to support and promote our Private Markets product initiatives globally. The Associate Director will play a critical role in supporting the team as they help define and execute the private markets strategy, including forming new partnerships, launching novel index families with market impact, maintaining current and developing new products by performing and producing analytical work within and across teams as pertaining to the Private Market product families.
 

The Associate Director, alongside commercial teams, will be a key player in developing and executing critical team processes that support developing and achieving the Private Markets business strategy.  This is a highly technical role, but it also requires effective collaboration skills and a commercial-focused mindset to achieve the team’s strategic priorities. In addition to being a hands-on Product Manager, the Associate Director will be an integral team member and collaborate across adjacent teams to achieve project goals.

Responsibilities

  • Focusing on the global private investment markets across strategy types, work across the FICC team to support the success of private market product lines; help identify new product opportunities to help drive commercial success
  • Be viewed as a key subject matter expert with in-depth knowledge of index methodology and processes; possess an intimate understanding of internal processes, including product launch lifecycle
  • Support team members in client engagement and analysis, including internal and external presentations / Powerpoint and data analysis and mining / Excel; be a leader in the understanding and articulation of underlying index methodologies and construction logic
  • Support the coordination of the index launch process; collaborate with the broader PM team and relevant internal stakeholders (R&D, Operations, Governance, Sales, etc.).
  • Support internal team initiatives, including materials relating to business strategy and processes
  • Contribute to product innovation and enhancements, including index methodology consultations and annual index reviews

What we’re looking for

  • 8+ years of experience working with private markets, index vendors or related fields
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in mathematics, finance, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, as well as attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills – written, verbal and presentation
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to roll up the sleeves and execute

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Programming skills (Python, R, Matlab) a plus
  • Knowledge of analytical platforms such as FactSet, Capital IQ, Bloomberg, MSCI / Barra, or Axioma a plus
  • CFA or progress towards CFA a plus
  • CAIA or progress towards CAIA a plus
