About the Role

Workday is looking for a Director of Finance to join the Customer Experience (CX) Finance Team. You will report to the Vice President of CX Finance and lead a team of finance professionals responsible for consolidating the Worldwide CX Financials and provide Business Partner support to 5 VPs.

This role is a key position within Workday Finance as we strive to become an outstanding finance organization. You will partner to establish business performance standards and metrics and build/drive internal financial processes and systems to be simple, predictive and accessible. You will ensure appropriate due diligence is applied to business decisions, maintaining the integrity of reported information, synthesizing that information into a strategic asset, and forecasting with a high level of predictability. You will partner with Services Leadership, Operations and Corp Finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary business partner to VP of Services Subscription Business Development.

  • Lead a team that provides financial support to the Services Subscription Business, Development, Customer Success, Technical Support, Education Services, and CX Strategy & Operations teams.

  • Responsible for consolidated CX P&L reporting. Lead all aspects of the monthly close process, maintaining alignment with Accounting and FP&A business partners to ensure accurate company-wide financial statement reporting.

  • Partner with Services Leadership to establish and drive functional budget tracking standards.

  • Work with the services leadership to drive the development of strategic (multi-year) long-term financial plans.

  • Provide financial analysis supporting new product introductions and pricing.

  • Set business framework for running business investments, resource allocations, business planning, operations and performance measurements. Proactively monitor and put in place performance reporting processes to ensure both short-term and long-term objectives are met.

  • Review and revise critical metrics as needed to ensure they provide the right clarity into the business.

  • Provide management team with insightful decision support/business analysis. Build and maintain strong business controls.

  • Understand competitive landscape, including business strategies, cost structures and key business metrics.

About You

Basic Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or 12+ years of relevant experience and a master’s degree in Finance or Accounting.

  • 8+ years of experience in Business Partnering Finance Roles.

  • 5+ years of experience supporting a sales/services organization as finance business partner.

  • 3+ years of people leadership experience.

Other Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in a fast-growing technology company, preferably in the enterprise software or SAAS markets.

  • Strong record of career advancement with a well-rounded background in functions including financial planning, business partnering, and Marketing/Sales financial support.

  • Ability to work across a geographically dispersed organization.

  • Experience managing a P&L and delivering results.
