Job Description:

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking an IT Applications Developer to join the Informational Systems and Technology (IS&T) unit within the department. The department consists of over 4500 employees who utilize multiple applications across the state. Apply today to join our mission of Helping People Live Better Lives!

 

Examples of Work

This position is for an Applications Development team responsible for providing IT technical programming services to Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) staff . What you will do as an IT Applications Developer:

• Work with a programming team that works on projects for multiple business areas within the DHHS agency.
• Assist with Systems Analysis, System Design & Implementation, Logical Database Design, Physical Database Design, and with Programming & Testing.

Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Experience, education, or training in coding computer applications.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio, .NET, C#, ASP.Net, WebForms and MVC, Entity Framework, Kendo UI for MVCASP, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, CSS, HTML, SQL 2016 Database or above, Subversion for code repository, Microsoft Office, Visio, and SharePoint. Experience creating and supporting Reports via Microsoft SSRS. Working with DHHS systems. Experience in Agile.

Other: Must be located in Nebraska. Not an out-of-state remote position.

• Candidates must be service oriented, have strong interpersonal and analytical skills that include working directly with various levels of business and technical staff to determine sound technical solutions for business requirements.
• Strong technical, organization and planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Desire and ability to learn and learn quickly.
• Must be able to debug, test and document computer programs, write clear understandable program code, maintain, and modify existing computer applications, and work effectively in a team environment
