Information Security Analyst Sr. is responsible for coordinating with the Cybersecurity Security Analyst, Technology Services stakeholders, and Business stakeholders to ensure vulnerabilities and threats impacting VDSS Technology assets and services are remediated. This position receives and organizes identified vulnerabilities and threats based on agency and regulatory priorities, creates and maintains Plans of Actions and Milestones (PoAM), engages technology and business stakeholders to schedule corrective actions, and facilitates these actions through to closure. This position also acts as liaison to Information Security and Risk management for threats and vulnerabilities captured based on audit and compliance.

Information Security Analyst Sr. will provide direct support to the agency.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience working with Technology Services for the Virginia Department of Social Services.
• Experience working within highly regulated programs including, but not limited to, the data protection requirements from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Social Security Administration, and the IRS (Federal Tax Information/FTI).
• Experience creating and managing work based on Plans of Action and Milestones and/or Corrective Action Plans.
• Experience coordinating complex efforts with cross-functional teams.
• Experience using MS Office tools such as Outlook, Visio, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field


KSA’s and/or Competencies required to successfully perform the work:
• Able to work and communicate effectively with Technology and Business Stakeholders
• Able to create and maintain Plan of Action and Milestones (PoAM) and/or Corrective Action Plans (CAP)
• Able to organize and prioritize work based on agency and regulatory requirements
• Knowledge and understanding of Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies

Additional Considerations

• Project Management Professional Certification.
• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), or similar certification.
