Job Summary:

As a Field Data Analyst, you will be focused on collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets to provide valuable insights and support decision-making processes. You will work closely with various teams, including clinical, actuarial, underwriting, claims, strategy, account management and sales to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improving operational efficiency, risk management, and client satisfaction.

This role will report to local regional leadership (Managing Partner, EB Practice Leader, etc.), but will receive guidance from and work closely with the National Practice team. 

Responsibilities:

Data Collection and Management:

  • Gather and compile relevant data from internal and external sources, such as claims databases, member enrollment records, and healthcare provider information.

  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy by performing data validation, cleansing, and transformation processes.

  • Develop and maintain databases, data systems, and data models to facilitate efficient data analysis.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Utilize statistical analysis techniques, data mining, and data visualization tools to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in health insurance data.

  • Analyze claims data to assess utilization patterns, cost drivers, and medical trends to support the development of pricing models and risk assessment strategies.

  • Generate reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including management, executives, and regulatory authorities.

Performance Monitoring and Forecasting:

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to health insurance operations, such as claims processing time, provider network performance, and member satisfaction.

  • Develop forecasting models and predictive analytics to anticipate future trends, estimate risk exposure, and support strategic planning initiatives.

  • Conduct ad hoc analyses and scenario modeling to evaluate the financial impact of policy changes, new product launches, or regulatory reforms.

Data-driven Decision Support:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and revenue optimization based on data insights.

  • Provide analytical support for evaluating the effectiveness of health programs, care management initiatives, and disease management interventions.

  • Assist in designing and evaluating pricing structures, insurance products, and benefit plans based on actuarial analysis and market research.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), by implementing appropriate data privacy and security measures.

  • Identify potential fraud, waste, and abuse patterns through data analysis and collaborate with fraud detection units to mitigate risks.

  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and comprehensive data reports and documentation.
