How will you make an impact in this role?
Global Commercial Services (GCS) provides a range of card programs and expense management tools to help large, medium, and small businesses around the world manage almost all the facets of their business spending. The GCS Lead Financial Office (LFO) team is responsible for providing financial management, decision support, and planning & results analysis to help the GCS business achieve its financial targets.
The Manager, GCS Finance HQ & Analytics will be part of a team that supports the GCS President and his leadership team and plays a critical role in enabling the GCS organization to deliver on its long-term ambition. This role will work closely with Finance teams and business partners, particularly GCS LFO teams, BU and Enterprise FP&A teams and GCS Strategy team to drive insights which have a meaningful impact on GCS business and investment strategy.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform executive-level analysis of key performance trends supporting the GCS Business Unit, providing strategic insights into P&L dynamics and profitability.
Support the broader team’s delivery of executive facing presentation materials and recurring processes. Provide insights on real-time performance trends, investments performance and implications for long-term GCS expectations.
Support GCS Finance strategic initiatives process, which includes coordinating activities across Finance and Strategy teams to ensure GCS strategic investments are appropriately allocated to support AXP growth plan.
Preferred Qualifications:
Highly motivated self-starter with ability to juggle multiple tasks, excellent organization skills and careful attention to detail with the ability to work autonomously.
Detailed working knowledge of issuer P&L and key financial processes
Drive, enthusiasm, commitment and a positive outlook are critical.
Demonstrated ability to develop financial models and draw value-add insights from large amounts of financial data. Intellectually curious.
Proficiency in SQL and big data sources / tools (Cornerstone, YellowBrick, Lumi etc.)
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint – Comfortable with large data sets, pivot tables, index-match, charts, graphs etc.
Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization. Ability to break down complex ideas to create clear, understandable, and actionable presentations.
Proven ability to build relationships, manage stakeholders, influence decisions and drive results through internal partnerships to effectively drive processes.
Solid ability to adopt a broad perspective and link business strategies to specific initiatives. Ability to demonstrate both the ‘big picture’ strategic thinking as well as the ‘attention to detail’ of tactical execution.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance or related field
4+ years of relevant work experience
