Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our talented service team. As a  Diesel Technician at Ron Tonkin Chevrolet, you'll be responsible for diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and systems, ensuring our customers' vehicles are safe, reliable, and running at peak performance.

 

Diesel Technician/Mechanic Responsibilities

  • Running diagnostic tests on diesel vehicles using GM-approved tools.

  • Analyzing diagnostic results and providing repair recommendations.

  • Replacing and repairing engines, transmissions, steering, and braking systems.

  • Inspecting and maintaining vehicle lighting and electrical systems.

  • Conducting test drives to confirm repairs and performance.

  • Performing routine preventative maintenance on diesel vehicles.

  • Maintaining accurate records of services, repairs, and parts used.

  • Following detailed inspection checklists and dealership procedures.

  • Keeping the work environment clean, safe, and organized.

Qualifications

Diesel Technician/Mechanic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working with diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicle systems is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair, electrical systems, transmissions, brakes, and steering systems.

  • High attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship and safety standards.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Corporate requirements: Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver's license and clean driving record, able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
