<span>Job Summary:</span>

<p><span>Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of machinery and equipment including automotive, light equipment and/or heavy duty equipment. Performs repairs in accordance with accepted automotive service/repair industry standards and agency policy. Requires extensive travel across the entire state, including frequent overnight stays.</span></p>

<span>Job Duties:</span>
</div>
<div>
<p><span>Inspects a variety of vehicles/equipment, to identify repairs and adjustments necessary for safe operation. The position involves diagnosing, repairing, and certifying scales.</span></p>
<p><span>Performs scheduled preventive maintenance services, including lube and oil change, tire repair and mounting, and minor repairs/adjustments.</span></p>
<p><span>Interpreting manufacturer specifications.</span></p>

<span>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):</span>
</div>
<div>
<p><span><strong>Knowledge of:</strong><br/>• Power/drive train system inspection, diagnosis and repair procedures.<br/>• Electrical systems inspection, diagnosis, and repair procedures.<br/>• Electronic control systems inspection, diagnosis, and repair procedures.<br/>• Computerized diagnostic analyzer use procedures and practices.<br/>• Hydraulic systems inspection, diagnosis, and repair procedures.<br/>• Operating principles of gasoline and diesel powered internal combustion engines.<br/>• Fleet maintenance shop safety principles and practices.<br/>• Record keeping principles and practices.</span></p>
<p><span><strong>Skill in/with:</strong><br/>• Repairing and maintaining mechanical, electrical, electronic and automotive/heavy construction equipment.<br/>• Operating computerized diagnostic analyzer equipment.<br/>• Estimating time cost of repair maintenance work for a wide variety of automotive/heavy construction equipment.<br/>• Scheduling/coordinating automotive/heavy construction equipment service and repair to maximize utilization.<br/><span><span>•</span></span> Repairing, rebuilding, and overhauling mechanical, electrical, electronic, and/or hydraulic systems in a wide variety of automotive/light/heavy construction equipment.</span></p>
<p><span><strong>Ability to:</strong><br/>• Follow oral and written instructions.<br/>• Interpret repair manuals, service bulletins and recall bulletins.<br/>• Utilize a PC and PC programs such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.<br/>• Manage time effectively.<br/><span><span>•</span></span> Diagnose issues quickly and accurately, and determine the best course of action to fix them.<br/><span><span>•</span></span> Prioritize tasks efficiently, especially in high-demand environments where equipment downtime needs to be minimized.<br/><span><span>• </span></span>Lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull 90 lbs; pass a physical exam.</span></p>
