Reports to: Director of Accounting

Status: Full-time

Salary: $75k-$85k

Position Description

The Accounting Manager evaluates and records accounts payable, accounts receivable and related transactions to ensure accuracy, maintains and updates information, and performs ongoing accounting responsibilities as assigned by the Director.

General Responsibilities

• Oversee all AP and AR activities, including vendor setups and invoices
• Ensure timely and accurate payments
• Manage purchase order processes
• Manages Cash Requirement Forecasts
• Resolution of payment and credit issues
• Oversee credit card accounts and reconciliations
• Identify opportunities for process improvements
• Oversee the conversion of the AP/AR process new ERP system
• Account reconciliations
• Monthly journal entries
• Other activities as directed

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Manages the accounting staff who are responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, and budget preparation.
• Recruits and hires accounting and financial staff and conducts performance evaluations.
• Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration required
• Minimum 5 years of related accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures
• Proficient in excel and accounting systems
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational skills
• Certified Public Accountant designation preferred

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
