About the role
ASSYST is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Project Manager to support our government customer based in Laurel, MD. The resource will play a key role in ensuring the successful execution of various projects, as well as providing support for portfolio management activities. This position requires strong organizational skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to contribute effectively in a dynamic environment.
Position Type – Hybrid (three days onsite and up to 2 days remote work)
Location – Laurel, MD

Responsibilities:
- Develop concrete, detailed plans for a project, including the schedule, the budget, and outlining the duties of each team member.
- Collaborate with various teams and conduct meetings to develop project plans.
- Experience identifying project goals and setting a timeline for the project.
- Ability to manage diverse project teams to ensure successful task completion.
- Responsible for gathering and documenting all project artifacts.
- Comfort speaking to large groups and senior management.
- At least 1-3 years experience in a project coordinator role.
- Basic understanding of project management principles.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- General knowledge of project management software.
- Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office 365 applications
