Summary

The Billing Supervisor will supervise and coordinate third-party billing and the application of payments for the clinic(s).

Qualifications
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Interviews prospective employees and chooses the best applicant(s) based on skills, knowledge, and abilities required for the job.
- Trains, evaluates, and initiates disciplinary action for supervised employees. Ensures that employees report to work on time and complete their time sheets.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Coordinates the insurance billing function of the business office and sees to the proper application of patient insurance and other payments.
- Reviews work of billing staff to ensure accuracy, resolving inconsistencies as needed.
- Creates and provides a prioritized list of insurance providers to be invoiced to team members.
- Prepares weekly and monthly report on third-party billings, accounts pending diagnoses and late charges.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Licenses, Certification and Experience
To apply for this position, you would need a high school diploma or a GED. An associate degree in office management would be preferred, however, any combination of education and experience which would provide the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and abilities required to perform the job duties will be considered. Must have a minimum of two years of experience in billing and/or coding.
Medical terminology and anatomy (preferred) willing to obtain within one (1) year of employment.
An above average understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial carriers and general healthcare billing guidelines required.
A valid Washington State driver's license is required and must be eligible for the Colville Tribes vehicle insurance and maintained throughout employment.
Basic Life Support, HIPAA and Privacy Act training certification is required within 90 days of hire.
