Microsoft Azure Administrator/Engineer

Responsibilities

We are hiring a Sr. Microsoft Azure Administrator/Engineer.  This position will be located in San Diego, CA.

 

As an Azure Administrator/Engineer on our team, you have the chance to shape the Microsoft Azure Stack HCI solution by leading engineering and design efforts for the transition of on-premises server solutions to Azure Stack HCI. 

 

What you'll do:

• The candidate will orchestrate the development of a system of interest (encompassing hardware and/or software) through its entire life cycle, from requirements determination through operations and system retirement, with an emphasis on domain expert involvement, risk/opportunity management, and tailoring of processes to meet the needs of the specific project.
• Applies advanced consulting skills and/or extensive technical expertise. Develops innovative solutions to complex problems. Works without considerable direction; mentors and may supervise team members.

Qualifications

What you'll need:

 

• Education:  8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD. In lieu of degree, HS diploma & 12 years of related or military related experience acceptable.
• Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure, including compute, network, storage, and backup principles in one or more of the following environments: Azure, AWS, Oracle, Google, or VMware Cloud solutions including administrator/architect level certifications.
• 5 years of experience in systems architecture in a distributed enterprise environment.
• 5 years of experience in cloud architectures and migrations specifically in an Azure environment.
• 5 years of Virtualization Technologies, including VMware and Hyper-V.
• Experience architecting and deploying Windows operating systems.
• Experience deploying IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS solutions with 5+ years of experience with PowerShell scripting.
• 5+ years of experience working in large enterprise operations environments, including the identification, development, analysis, scheduling, and managing of enterprise IT activities, solutions and risk mitigations, artifacts, and migrations.
• Understanding of Microsoft’s Azure Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) solutions.
• Clearance:  DOD Secret Clearance.
• DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II Certification, (e.g. Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP) in addition to Operating Environment (OE) certification for Microsoft Platforms/Solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience applying systems engineering fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments.
• Experience with enterprise server, storage, networking, software, and application services or equivalent depth in a single solution platform.
• Experience collaborating with other enterprise technologists both internally and externally to resolve complex technical issues.
• Experience supporting and coordinating across senior-level organizations.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, or Engineering.
• CASP+ or CISSP Certification.
• Microsoft Azure Certifications.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
