Join us at Methodist Hospital for an exclusive cohort internship tailored for high school juniors and seniors enrolled in a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course or those who already hold a CNA certificate. This internship provides a unique opportunity to earn income while engaging in real healthcare scenarios in a hospital environment. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their skills, gain valuable experiences, shadow a variety of healthcare professionals, and actively participate in hands-on patient care.

The ideal intern candidate will have a strong interest pursuing a long-term career in the healthcare industry. Successful completion of the program opens up an opportunity to apply and interview for a CNA position within Methodist Hospital.

Internship Details:
Schedule: Tue & Thu 4pm to 7pm
• Duration: March 11, 2025 – May 1, 2025
• Paid Opportunity: You are paid for your time, allowing you to earn while you learn
• Future Opportunities: Successful completion of the program enables you to apply and interview for a CNA position within Methodist Hospital
• Applications due January 10th, 2025.

Qualifications:
• High school junior or senior currently enrolled in or having completed a CNA course.

Responsibilities as an intern:
• Arrive on time and prepared for each day
• Maintain polite communication with coordinators, preceptors, patients, and peers
• Demonstrate enthusiasm and a strong work ethic throughout the program
• Understand and adhere to the mission, vision, values, and regulations of the internship program
• Fulfill any other assigned tasks

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

Providing service excellence and support functions for college community.

  • Greets every person who comes into college front doors with a warm smile, enthusiastically welcoming our visitors and eagerly offering assistance to them.
  • Answers the phone promptly, clearly stating, “Nebraska Methodist College, this is ______, how may I assist you?” with professionalism. The customer should hear the smile and eagerness in your voice to assist them.
  • Actively listen to the needs of the customer and repeatedly go beyond the customer's expectations.
  • Communicate openly with security and other front desk staff members to ensure the safety of the building and for understanding of front desk work assignments. Ask questions for clarity and guidance whenever necessary.
  • Provide accurate information with the necessary and appropriate level of confidentiality.
  • Completes dropped off copy projects and notifies staff for pickup.
  • Provides clerical assistance to College support staff, as needed. This may include: assembling packets or orientations or college mailings
  • Manages monetary transactions (reimbursement of money lost in vending machines)
  • Reports maintenance issues for public college areas to x.44111 Customer Service or the Hospital Operator at “0”
  • Other duties as assigned

Monitor and maintain necessary and appropriate security and safety measures.

  • Monitors the admissions process of authorized persons within designated areas of the building. (Consult with your security office on duty with questions.)
  • Initiates appropriate protocol for all emergencies and extraordinary situations.
