Job Description

The mission of Product Planning is to manage production for key product lines to ensure that quarterly demand is reliably met, and that WD achieves its financial targets. To accomplish this, Product Planning team members regularly analyze and publish production plans and material requisition plans, working to match supply to demand in the most cost-effective manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

I2 Plan Management

  • Daily review of I2 Plan for assigned products. Optimizing loading plan, diagnosing fill rate shortages
  • Management of I2 Production Flows
  • Publish Material Requisition Plan for assigned products

Coordinating with Cross-Functional Teams

  • Work with NPI Team to prepare and manage through production ramp of new products
  • Coordinate with Asia Planning and Execution for production firming, manual launches
  • Work with Capacity Planning, Silicon Planning, and Procurement to coordinate all elements of supply
  • Connect with Inventory Management team to manage excess and/or create disposition plans
  • Work with Demand Planning, BU, and Sales Ops to understand demand conditions and to align on production strategy
  • Analyze scenario requests from Sales or BU, for example pull in requests, WIP check, or other ad-hoc queries

Reporting to Key Stakeholders

·        Provide status updates to Operations and BU Leadership teams on production status

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering/Supply Chain Management, or Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2 years of relevant work experience in Supply Chain Planning/Procurement
  • Understanding of supply chain best practices

Skills:

  • Good communication skills with the ability to work with multiple organizations in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Great teammate, highly motivated, ambitious, and a quick learner
  • Extensive data analytical skills including advanced knowledge of MS Excel, VBA, SQL, and Tableau
  • Experience with Advanced Planning Systems such as i2 and SAP
