In this role you’ll oversee all aspects of bike & general product compliance standards to ensure all Specialized bike products comply with international chemical and safety standards. You’ll work with our compliance, test, legal & product teams as well as our international sales teams when standards affect specific countries. In this Senior role you’ll provide critical guidance on new compliance regulations and lead projects for new compliance requirements.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
- Provide clarity to teams on international regulations as our expert in product regulations & compliance
- Work with global teams on complex compliance issues
- Represent Specialized in selected international test organizations and meetings
- Continuous improvement of product compliance processes
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Guide & collaborate with Asia-based compliance team in establishing structure of documentation
- Be Specialized’s contact/leader at the forefront of new or proposed international test or compliance standards
- Lead & collaborate with test teams on planning & implementation of new tests
- Serve as subject matter expert for international standards & Restricted Substances List:
- Chemical such as: CPSIA, RSL includes (CA Prop65 & REACH)
- Safety such as: ISO-4210, 16 CFR Part1512, EN15194, AS/NZ, EN71, ASTM963, UL2271/2849.
- Other associated safety standards as they arise, such as DIN79010
- Partner with legal team as needed
- Continuous Improvement:
- Work with leaders from other functions to identify and fix gaps in our way of working and create efficient processes where gaps exist, example: Bike Product Model level improvement
- Advise on Compliance for Helmets, Apparel & Equipment
- Partner with Test Engineering on new project Minimum Test Requirement definitions
WHAT YOU NEED TO WIN
- BS or MS in Engineering with 10+ years of engineering experience 7+ years of compliance &/or testing experience
- Demonstrated track record of increasing responsibilities
- Ability to communicate effectively across multiple cultures and time zones
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to keep teams focused & moving forward towards overall goals
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience with Testing Organizations such as ISO, CEN, ASTM, UL, etc.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence and Agile product lifecycle management tools is a plus
- Experience working with international cultures and factories
- A passion for cycling

- International and domestic travel is required for this role
Pay
Below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company if based in the following locations:
California Base Pay Range: $71,439 - $117,874 annually
Colorado Base Pay Range: $67,867 - $108,052 annually
New York City and Westchester County $71,439 - $117,874 annually
Washington Base Pay Range: $71,439 - $112,963 annually
At Specialized, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package and will depend on your work experience, skills, certification, and location.
