For every child, the right to Support

The UNICEF State of Palestine security team operates in a highly complex and volatile environment across East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza, supporting security risk management, operational security, humanitarian access, emergency preparedness, incident response, physical security and civil-military coordination. The Senior Security Associate based in Gaza plays a key role in supporting the safety and security of UNICEF personnel, assets and operations, while contributing to effective security planning, field coordination and programme implementation in a dynamic humanitarian context.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

Minimum requirements

  • Education: Secondary Education in any related fields.
  • Work Experience: At least 7 years of relevant work experience in Security, Security Environment, Security Operations, Police Services, Military Services, Risk Management, Emergency Response, Physical Security, Incident Management, Security Coordination, Humanitarian Security.. and any other related fields.
  • Skills: Strong experience in Security Planning, Security Operations, Security Networking, Risk Assessment, Emergency Response, and Capacity Building is required.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Arabic are required.

Desirables

  • Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language
  • Knowledge of UN Security Experience, Security Risk Management, Physical Security, Emergency Preparedness, Incident Response, and Civil-Military Coordination will be considered an asset.
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
